Answers to the most common questions about Rawframe.
Where are my frames saved?
On iPhone and iPad, frames are saved to Photos. On Mac, a save dialog appears and you choose where the file goes. Press ⌘S to save.
What format and resolution do I get?
A lossless PNG in the video’s full resolution, so 4K stays 4K. The video’s rotation is applied. Files are named like video_frame123.png.
How do I find the exact frame?
Use the slider to get close. Then use ‹ and › to step exactly one frame, and « and » to jump one second. Hold a button to repeat. You can also drag horizontally across the picture to step frame by frame. The frame number and timecode are shown.
What is the button in the top-left corner?
It switches between Fill Screen and Show Whole Frame. Double-tapping the picture does the same.
What happens with HDR videos?
The saved PNG is a standard (SDR) 8-bit image. HDR highlights are mapped to SDR, so colors can look slightly different from HDR playback.
Why does Rawframe ask for access to Photos?
It asks for add-only permission, which lets it save frames you choose to save. It cannot see or read your library. If you said no, open the Settings app and turn it on under Rawframe › Photos.
Does it need internet or iCloud?
Rawframe itself never uses the internet. Videos come from Photos in their original quality. If a video is only in iCloud, Photos may download it when you pick it. That is handled by the system, not by the app.
Which videos work?
In general, any video your device can play, for example videos from the Camera app in MOV or MP4. If a video does not open, it is probably a format your device cannot play either.
Which shortcuts are there on Mac?
← → step one frame, ⇧← ⇧→ jump one second, and ⌘S saves the frame. You can also drag a video into the window to open it.
What about my data?
Rawframe collects no data. There is no account, no ads and no tracking, and your videos never leave your device. Read the privacy policy for details.
